Based on recent statistics, it has been observed that the number of families getting separated is increasing. This could be due to factors which may include immaturity of either or both parties, financial incompetency, psychological issues, incompatibility and many others. Because of this, couples who have children and separate will battle over custody and most of the resident parenting goes to the mother. Resident parents go through a hard time, understandably. Private and public sectors do recognize this predicament experienced by single parents and this is why there are now different sites and organizations which assist resident parents with the different things that they may need, This could include financial and psychological counseling, as well as counseling for them to know their resident parents rights and responsibilities. These programs are vital in ensuring that resident parents are aware of what they are due of and also make them not abuse their rights since the non- resident parent also has rights when in comes to taking care of the child or visiting the child. It is advisable for both resident and non- resident parents to come into a mutual agreement about these things.

We can’t always look after our children all the time. That’s why we have teachers to educate them 8 hours a day, or a nanny to look after them when we can’t or tutors who will guide them during their after school activities. But we have to be very keen and careful in picking these people who will help us in rearing our children.

We must find time to get to know our children’s teachers so as to see and know the kind of influence they are giving to our children during their times in school or the nanny or baby sitter we hired and of course the tutor we trusted to guide our children’s study habits after school. It is important that we find tutors for example found in Singapore Tuition Agency that matches our parenting styles to build up the type of upbringing we wish to do to our children for better results.

Picking the right people to help us in guiding and building our children’s character is all part of good parenting. We may not always be there, but if we know the kinds of people who surround and stand on our shoes temporarily then we are ensuring our children’s welfare and safety.

In today’s fast paced world, not everyone has the time to breast feed their children personally. In the 1980s and early 90s, baby formula was thought out to be a scientific replacement for mother’s milk but it was soon proved that both mother and baby need breast milk. Moms that did not breast feed were diagnosed with a higher rate of breast cancer and babies that were not given breast milk were reported as more susceptibility to infections and developmental issues.

Come late 90s and this realization hit hard and formula use reduced as a supplement and not a substitute for breast milk. But the original problem that resulted in the use of formula still remained. Moms just don’t have the time to personally feed babies every 2 hours. Also, some are unable to do so physically. Breast feeding is no easy task and some just don’t produce enough, just when the baby wants it. Welcome to the world of breast pumps.

A simple scientific improvement over breast feeding, breast pumps have been around for ages. In fact, perhaps since the time that human beings are around, mothers have attemped to capture their breast milk in some fashion and use it at a later time to feed their babies. This trend is just picking steam now though.

So with breast pumps, mothers are able to express their milk via the use of sophisticated instruments that mimick the baby’s sucking action – typically 40 to 60 cycles per minute and attempt to accurately recreate the mom’s reflex that they usually experience with a baby. There are electric ones these days that work on both breasts simultaneously, as well as battery operated ones. These improvements have made it easier to feed infants while maintaining the lifestyle that modern women are subjected to and often HAVE to adapt to.

In a future article, we’ll compare breast feeding with breast pumps. They serve the same purpose but there are some key differences.

If you are in the market for breast pumps, give medela breast pumps a shot. They are perhaps the best out there, and rated #1 by consumersearch.com.
