Why Driving On Tires With Low Air Pressure Is A Bad Idea

Jul 23, 2010

You see them on the road wherever you drive each day. I’m talking about vehicles with tires that look nearly flat at times. There’s a lot of different reasons why driving your car with tires that have low air pressure is a bad idea. And it doesn’t matter if you have cheap tires or more expensive ones, the results are the same.

One of the worst things that happens is that you can have a complete tire failure in many cases. The low air pressure stresses out the tire and causes a loss of control that leads to accidents.

Another big reason why you need to keep your tires aired up properly is that they will wear much longer than if you do not have enough air in them. It increases the friction with your tire and the road and you also get much worse gas mileage in addition to the increased wear and tear.
